Dr. Patrick Chuang: Energy and material constraints on society in a fossil-free world (in person/zoom Feb 26, 3:30 pm)

February 17 @ 8:00 am5:00 pm
Dear CAN members:

The Earth Futures Institute and UCSC Climate Action Network (CAN) are pleased to announce Climate Salon #5, by our very own Patrick Chuang of the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department:

“Energy and material constraints on society in a fossil-fuel free world”

on Thurs Feb 26 at 3:30 PM in the CfAO Atrium, in person and by ZOOM.
In this talk, Patrick will take his previous Climate Salon as a point of departure and
attempt to estimate what energy and material resources will realistically be available in
a fossil-fuel-free world. I can tell you that this is a very ambitious agenda, one that
I have never heard addressed in several years of listening to forefront podcasts on
energy.  You won’t hear this talk anywhere else.
A flyer for the talk is attached.

We would be very grateful if you could advertise these events in your departments.climatesalon#5.chuang.final
PS CfAO is the Center for Adaptive Optics.  It is the small building next to Earth and Marine Sciences
and Natural Sciences II.
