DESCRIPTION:Tour Overview: Explore Forest Health in Action  \nTake a guided walk through the UC Santa Cruz Upper Campus Demonstration Site to learn about the Wildfire Vegetation Management Plan (WVMP) and forest resilience treatments completed through a CAL FIRE Forest Health Grant. Discover how techniques like thinning\, handwork\, mechanical treatment\, mastication\, and chipping work together to lower wildfire risk and support a resilient forest ecosystem. \nGuided Tour & Safety Information \n\nTrail Distance: We will be walking approximately one mile through a forested area.\nRecommended Footwear: Please wear comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots. The ground in the forest is uneven and unstable.\nTransportation: Shuttles will pick up participants at the Barn Theater Parking Lot and transport everyone directly to the forest site. Parking is free on weekends.\nPlease Note: This tour requires continuous walking and standing.
