DESCRIPTION:CruzCon brings together UC researchers\, faculty\, students\, campus leadership\, and industry partners for a day exploring open source in research and innovation — hosted by the UC Santa Cruz Open Source Program Office (CROSS) and CITRIS and the Banatao Institute at the Seymour Center\, UC Santa Cruz. \nRegistration Open\nPlease note that is not an open event as space is limited. It is meant primarily for UC affiliates\, industry partners and invited guests. If you are an external participant who has not received a direct invitation please email cross-info@ucsc.edu to request one before registering. \nAttendees are also invited to join the CROSS Annual Oktoberfest\, held immediately following the conference.

DESCRIPTION:Wikipedia overwhelmingly recognizes the achievements of white people. Join us as we add wikipedia pages for BIPOC leaders in science and technology\, highlighting their often overlooked accomplishments and ensuring that the next generation can see role models who look like them. \n\n\n\nNo experience is necessary – just bring a laptop! \n\n\n\n\nWe will provide a list of scientists who don’t yet have pages\, or you can come up with your own! The event will begin with a short training on how to edit Wikipedia\, followed by time to write your own article on a scientist\, engineer\, or technologist of your choice. \nRSVP here \nPlease RSVP above for a Zoom link if you will be attending virtually\, or to let us know that you are coming in person. Snacks will be provided!
